At High Minded Cannabis Co., we believe supporting our communities means showing up for the causes that matter most to the people who live and work in them. Alongside our sister companies, Cloud Cannabis and Timber Cannabis Co., we are proud to support local communities through our quarterly initiatives.
Each quarter, we champion a nonprofit our team is personally passionate about and support its mission through sales of a specialty strain. For quarter 3, we are excited to partner with Six Feet Over, a nonprofit dedicated to suicide prevention, mental health education, advocacy, and supporting people impacted by suicide loss.
This September, Grape Gasoline is our featured specialty strain. Proceeds from this strain will go to Six Feet Over.
About Six Feet Over
Founder and Executive Director Kate Hardy created Six Feet Over in 2014. After losing her mom to suicide in 2003 and later experiencing the loss of countless friends, Kate understood firsthand the impact suicide can have on individuals, families, and entire communities. These experiences helped her recognize the kind of support people truly need. Determined to make a difference, Kate created Six Feet Over to provide meaningful assistance and encourage open conversations to help build healthier futures.
Six Feet Over’s mission is to provide financial and emotional support for survivors of suicide loss and individuals with lived experiences of suicide, while engaging in community prevention through mental health education and advocacy. They do this through two main programs: Lemon Aid and Suck It! Suicide. They also host virtual QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) suicide prevention training classes and send personally curated care packages to loss survivors.
Lemon Aid
Lemon Aid provides financial and emotional support for people who have lost a loved one to suicide throughout Michigan and Kansas. Specific support varies by region, but Lemon Aid may be able to help with the costs associated with funerals, memorial services, headstones, caskets, bio-cleaning services, and more. They also provide support beyond financial assistance by connecting survivors with emotional resources.

Suck It! Suicide
Suck It! Suicide (SIS) is their community outreach program. They meet people where they are; they go to bars, festivals, concerts – unconventional spaces where nonprofits aren’t typically present – and their goal is to reach people that traditional mental health and suicide prevention groups often miss. Their volunteers are there to hang out, talk to people, build connections, give advice, and stop the stigma around this topic.
Kate explains, “Although suicide prevention is a very serious topic, it doesn’t have to feel clinical or sad.” SIS tables feel welcoming and approachable, and are often filled with laughter, hugs, and light. These events also help raise funds through sweet merch sales to continue to support their mission.

High Minded and Suicide Prevention
Suicide prevention is deeply personal to our organization. Like many others, we have felt the profound pain and loss that suicide can bring. That experience has strengthened our resolve to reduce stigma, encourage open conversations about mental health, and help ensure that anyone who is struggling feels seen, supported, and connected to resources.
Our commitment to Six Feet Over goes beyond a monetary donation. We are proud to help bring greater awareness to suicide prevention among our customers and communities while also creating volunteer opportunities for our employees to support Six Feet Over’s work directly.
Throughout this quarter, every purchase of our featured specialty strains is an opportunity to make an impact.
If you or someone you know is facing mental health struggles or emotional distress, call or text 988 in the United States to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. You are not alone.
